St. Landry Parish Release Meanings
A St. Landry Parish jail release is the end of one custody episode. It is not always the end of a criminal case, a sentence, or physical confinement. The St. Landry Parish Jail may release someone to the community after bond, recognizance, time served, sentence completion, dismissal, probation, or another court order. It may instead transfer the person to Louisiana DPS&C, another jail, the U.S. Marshals Service, or ICE. The final jail record should distinguish those paths when the relevant fields are maintained.

Not every field is guaranteed to exist or be public. Pending-case exemptions, confidential information, juvenile restrictions, redaction, expungement, sealing, and the record's actual design can limit disclosure. The release record also does not replace the court disposition. It documents the jail's operational action, while the Clerk's file documents the legal case.

Search the case number, booked identity, charge, and filing agency, then trace bond action, plea or trial disposition, judgment, sentence, jail credit, probation, commitment, modification, and revocation.
Jurisdiction can change the result. The parish identifies the 27th Judicial District Court as well as Opelousas and Eunice City Courts. A no-result in one system may reflect a different court, spelling, delayed indexing, confidentiality, sealing, or expungement. It does not prove that no arrest, case, or release occurred.
Find St. Landry Parish Released Inmates
The most reliable search follows custody rather than repeating a name across unrelated databases. Start with the last verified custodian. Obtain its exit record, identify the authority and destination, then move to the system that received the person. The official St. Landry roster only tests current parish custody at its timestamp. St. Landry Release Funds
The Sheriff's offender-funds page supplies a specific local release fact. A remaining account balance is returned at release unless debt is owed, and debt is collected at release. The published rule does not explain whether staff use cash, a check, a card, or another handoff method. It also does not publish a broad property-release process.
Keep the claim within that boundary. A person seeking a receipt can include the existing offender-account or property receipt in a narrow records request if it is relevant to the booking. The presence of a balance or debt does not prove release time, destination, or legal status. Those facts still come from the final custody entry and court file.
St. Landry Release Supervision
Louisiana LAVNS can include people in prison and people under probation or parole supervision. That makes it useful after some St. Landry Parish releases. It does not mean every former jail detainee appears. A local bond release does not create state parole, while a fully discharged sentence may no longer produce a public match.

Louisiana calls its statewide service the Louisiana Automated Victim Notification System, or LAVNS. The public interface is VINELink. Register on the exact person and agency record for a prospective custody event. Match identifiers, choose an offered text, email, phone, or in-app method, and complete the confirmation or PIN prompts shown for that registration.
An alert reports an event supplied by a participating agency. It is not a certified release record, and it may not distinguish a community release from every form of transfer. Check the Sheriff or DPS&C exit record and the court disposition. Louisiana also separates LAVNS from LAVO. LAVO is the state-prison outreach program for projected release, actual prison release, parole matters, and other listed events. Registration in one is not registration in the other.
ICE After St. Landry Release
No ICE detention facility was found in St. Landry Parish. Even so, an ICE detainer can turn a local-jail exit into federal immigration custody. ICE explains that a detainer may request notice and transfer when another authority would otherwise release a person. “Released by St. Landry” can therefore mark a change of custodian rather than a return to the community.

Those details are not a release schedule. Confirm eligibility, advance reservation needs, operating day, exact pickup point, and fare directly with the provider. Release processing may shift because of paperwork, court orders, holds, or transfers. A family pickup plan should stay flexible until the jail confirms that the person will enter the community and states where pickup is allowed.

State capital-outlay material lists a St. Landry Parish Correctional Center Addition in Opelousas with $8 million in Priority 1 funding. That is evidence of a funded or planned project. It is not proof that construction finished, operations moved, or the established release contact changed.
Continue using the Louisiana DPS&C parish directory for the St. Landry Parish Jail at 108 S. Market Street and its published phone unless the responsible agency announces an update. A project title does not identify a family waiting area, release door, or pickup site. Confirm operational details directly for the specific release.

St. Landry Parish Release Facility
The Facility Map supports one local detention page: St. Landry Parish Jail, operated by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff says it holds people awaiting trial and people who have been convicted. A community release is confirmed through the jail record and controlling court file. A transfer must be followed through the receiving agency.
No Louisiana state prison, federal Bureau of Prisons facility, or ICE detention facility was verified inside St. Landry Parish.
